Fees

Interpreting

Professional interpreting services are calculated as daily fees. Although the fee is paid as daily amounts for interpreting at the event, it also includes the great deal of work prior to the conference which goes into preparing for the event such as researching the subject-matter and any specific terminology to be used.

Additional costs may include travel and accommodation expenses or a per diem allowance.

Recordings of an interpreter's performance are subject to a copyright fee.

Translations

Fees for translation services are based on either the number of words in the target text, a standard number of keystrokes for a line or are calculated as an hourly rate.

The fee may also be dependent upon the complexity of the text and/or special formatting requirements or the need for an express service for time-sensitive translations.

All translations are always proofread by a native speaker of the target language (this is called the cross-check principle). This service is included in the fee.
